The set of Conrad and Joal model parts (is missing on the picture a Conrad Volvo F16 Swedish logging chassis):

After various combination trials and fitting of miscelaneous parts, I did manage to "rebuild" several new models, in addition to the Joal Volvo and Conrad Mercedes-Benz 4x2 tractors already displayed here.

1st modification complete (to be painted) a Swedish logging truck:

IVECO LD 240 E42 F/P 6x2/2 carrier with logging poles and Palfinger/Epsilon M 120Z96 forestry crane (modified Conrad model with Bemo Models parts and Conrad crane) carrying a load of 3 metres long poplar logs (homemade)

To be continued.

Second rebuilt resulting in a German container carrier (to be repainted):

Mercedes-Benz 3238 L 8x4/4 carrier equipped with a 20' container chassis (modified Conrad model with Bemo and Joal elements) loaded with a Sea Box Inc. 20' maritime container (Tekno model)

Other combinations being progressed with parts received from the USA, a Middle-Eastern heavy haulage set and a recovery operation on German motorways.

Last combination, far from being completed:

Steve,

This box trailer could be seen in most small-size construction locations, being used as hand equipment storage and as change-rooms.
The model is sold in kit and built form by E. Pinocheau, from Creatpshop, a French model producer having some of his models realized by N. Danchaud, from MiniCams.

I hope this helps.

The clamshell bucket-grab,on that Renault. What is it from? That is,without doubt, the best I have seen.Does it have 'teeth'?Was it a kit?I have a grab truck, the grab on the crane is from an Atlas wheeled excavator,It is too long to hang from a crane, but you can get Conrad grabs, specifically for those types of cranes.

modelmaniac,

I first thought that the clamshell grab was a Gaz Evans item with hydraulic rams installed bottom-up but Jean-Jacques confirmed to me that it was bought as a kit from MiniCams and fitted to a Conrad knuckleboom crane. The truck itself was made by Jean-Francois from a modified Minicirque cab installed on a chassis with a homemade tipping body.

I hope this helps.

I want to make an eight wheel grab tipper, from Conrad trucks.Grab trucks are very popular in the U.K.There are at least ten,in my town, they are the ones I have seen!I have a two axle grab truck, much like the photo. That grab would be the perfect fit,on an 8 wheeler. So pleased you can get it,on it's own.I do know the Gaz Evans clamshell,it is way too big,for a truck crane.Hopefully Minicams have one in stock.

modelmaniac,

I'll ask Norbert from MiniCams about it and let you know.

modelmaniac,

I have got a response from MiniCams: the clamshell grab is not produced anymore as its mold is out of order.

Sorry for that negative answer.
