Sorry for the misspelling of the company name.

The forklift operator had just the minimum practical training on the tire handler. He takes that opportunity to get a better knowledge of the WBM unit capabilities:

The 2nd rear outer wheel being in position, the tire handler operational training continues:

Meanwhile, the heavy machinery maintenance building is reaching its completion stage. Let's squeeze in to find how it looks inside, before it is packed with all sorts of vehicles:

To be continued (tomorrow).

Guy thanks for the pictures with tire being moved. What a fantastic job he did with that custom build. The garage should be nice when it’s in full swing.

Barkerjoh,

Good question for which I don't have an answer right now, but I'll ask.

Cheers.

Today, we'll have a site visit of the new workshop with some members of the future maintenance team to be assigned here:

Absolutely brilliant! We are installing overhead cranes in a new facility right now and this model is spot-on for accuracy!

Only thing I see missing is a box of donuts on the bench with the hard hats Teeth

Barkerjoh,

I've had a response from Denis to the question above and its translation is as follows: "Yes, all doors are operable, they can be moved up and down and rolled on a bar on top, inside the building, like real ones. They were made by Michel from a thin tissue on which numerous small horizontal metallic bars were glued, to ensure some rigidity and weight, just like real ones".

Robs,

Denis agrees for the missing donuts, but then they should be "made in Lorraine - France", not American ones! He'll be more than happy to offer these to anyone visiting him and the diorama over there, providing that he is informed a few days ahead of the visit.

I hope it helps.

It seems that the site visit is over with a Caterpillar 793D dumper being brought in for maintenance:

According to the Workshop Leader, that dumper should be here for a few days, as heavy repairs are anticipated. Plenty of time then to take more pictures.

I sometimes open this thread first thing in the morning when I am still not 100% awake and think I a looking at a real mine.

It is just incredible. Wish I could think of more superlatives to use!!

New equipment is brought in the other end of the building:

I'm sure that you have noted that the Liebherr T262 dumper, originally overhauled on site, has now been towed inside the workshop to improve maintenance working conditions.

I wonder what can be the use of that strange structure, as unlashing operations begin:

While the erection site is being prepared, the Kalmar DC42 forklift is mobilized to unload equipment structural parts:
