I contacted this website http://www.coalcentre.net/ and I made an appointment. A man named Ross came to take me at the Singleton train station and made me take a ride around Mt Thorely about 2 hours ... But i'm absolutely not satisfied .... I would like to see and photograph the equipment more closely ...
Or I'd be happy to visit the Westrac branch at Parramatta (sydney) .... I've been there a few weeks ago and there were some interesting equipment to see.
I asked if I could take pictures but it was not possible ... I asked to speak to someone but nothing ....

please help mePray Pray Pray

Can any one advise if these are autonomous trucks at Detour Lake? If you look closely at the front and above the front wheels you can see the radar units.

I don't believe they are autonomous trucks Tim. I think what you are seeing is part of a collision avoidance system installed on the trucks.

Thanks Greasemonkey.
There are some autonomous 793F trucks being assembled here in Perth at the moment and they have the same system fitted.

I'm with Brian this one. The 797F at MINExpo had a similar system on it, and it was not autonomous.

BTW: Fantastic photos yet again Tim! Thanks a ton!

Cat have an acronym for evrything a nd that sytem is called WAVS, work area vision system, it and other onboard integrated systems all make up the building blocks of autonamous systems but don,t have to be on autonomous trucks only.

Those 93,s would be FMG trucks i would imagine Tim?

Gavin, yes they are for FMG. There are also 2 new 994H loaders, a 854K and 2 new 24M graders. They are also getting a letourneau L1850 (currently being assembled in Perth) and I suspect a 6060FS also being assembled in Perth.
