Nice Review Steven, I was waiting to see that model for a while now. By the looks of it, it is by far the best 1/50 Milling Machine Produced yet, and hopefully I can pick one up soon.

Steven, did you find that the hydraulic cylinder piston rods on the EC480 were plastic?? I know the one Ian Webb reviewed had plastic hydraulic cylinder piston rods which would bend while posing. Oh and thanks for the W250i review, it just makes me want the model more!!!!

The rams on my EC480D are plastic! It's such a shame as in my opinion it's a brilliant model otherwise!

The rams on the Volvo EC220D are plastic. On the EC480D that i reviewed, they are metal and reasonably stiff.
I have sent an email to Motorart asking them for the reason behind the plastic rams, as the L60G and L90G also have plastic rams and they are loose, so do not hold the loader arms up.
When i get a reply, i will post the details here.

Joe, just out of interest, when did you get your EC480D model?

Steven

Correction, i have checked again and the rams on the EC480 are in fact stiff chromed plastic. Did not spot that when reviewing it as the friction feels like metal rams.
Will be interesting to hear back from Motorart as to the reasoning behind the plastic rams

I got my EC480D at plantworx, I thought they were metal at first too and it was only until I cleaned some dust out from under the ram and noticed it flexed! It's a bit pathetic really! motorart should step up and do the rams on metal!
