For those of you interested here is two links for the tractor and trailer builds in 1/24th scale on a German site. These are very in depth with lots of photos of the build. Not necessary to understand German to enjoy seeing all the great photos of the build. NOOTEBOOM MEGA WINDMILL TRANSPORT TRAILER BUILD 1/24http://www.wettringer-modellbauforum.de/forum/thread.php?threadid=2422scanina 8 x 4 tractor buildBoth of these models are still advertised on Nooteboom's website. Enjoy, Fritz

Fritz, that 1:24th scale model is absolutely amazing! The amount of custom work that guy did to that kit is unbelievable. Thanks for sharing. Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Rowan, The kit is more or less "out of the box". There are not very much custom work on Guido's model - the model is that detailed. I think there are 4-5 places, where he has added extra details. I'm going to build the 1:24 version too - my model will feature a Scania R164 Longline in front of it, and hopefully two extra details on the 3 axle jeep dolly - a lifted 1st axle and a steered 3rd axle. Thanks for the info Kristoffer, I assumed a lot of it was custom however, either way, its a fantastic build. Good luck with your project, I'm sure it's going to take quite some time :D Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Kristoffer, Best of luck to you on the projects. Guido's pictures are great, and the level of painstaking detail that goes into the model is unbelievable. Can you help me understand why certain pieces look like they are made as a single sheet of material, stamped with the piece in the middle? For example, the silver tank on the equipment rack looked like a lot of material was wasted, and a lot of time was spent cutting and trimming the 4 pieces. Also, the fenders over the wheels look like they were made the same way. Dave

Dave, The silver tank is very easy to build. The rear fenders of the Scania does need a lot of trimming, but that is more or less the only part, that need a lot of trimming. The kit (MWT) is very nice made, and eventhough it is a big kit, I don't think it is all that hard to build. The 1:1 truck, which I'm going to build in 1:24: Kristoffer

Both kits are sold out from Nooteboom. I have also been in concact with MAD (who makes the 1:24 MWT and Scania), but they do not always reply. I got one of the last kits from Nooteboom, and there is no word regarding a new production run.

It looks like you will be adding a lot of checkerplate and bodywork around the rear axles. I hope you can post progress pictures, and especially some photos of the finished product. Good luck! Dave

Thanks.
Yes, the checkerplate and bodywork are the area where I have to build most of it from scratch. I hope this will not turn in to a nightmare.... I will post some pictures when the building progresses...

The Ter Linden model looks amazing. I phoned Nooteboom and have now got one on order - I'm in the Nooteboom club and they were happy to reserve me one.

Sorry guys, seems that the model is allready sold out. A dutch friend of mine who was yesterday at RAI mailed me this news. If no european model dealers have preordered any of these models at RAI, you will have to wait for the next three series of this model in other liveries. Regards Rainer

Regards Rainer I don't expect them to be pre-ordered, as they told me at the Nooteboom stand that ou could only order the model at the RAI, and would have to pay for it there. So, unless some of the bigger retailers were there and ordered a couple I doubt that you could get them later on... The realy sad part is that there won't be a Nooteboom colored model. Only companie liveries. Next one is Give if I'm correct. This will have the turbine housing as a load. Well, we have some time to start saving, so I guess I just gonna have to order two of the Give sets. Does anyone know what other companies will be made?

Ok Remko that is more precise. I doubt it too. Next Version which shall be available 2008 shall be a danish livery with a 4-axle scania tractor. Which danish livery this will be I don`t know. And you are right, Remko it is sad that there will be no model version in Nooteboom colors and livery.

Why would you want to have the crude KSM parts in between? The (V90) windmill parts that come with the MWT are way better than the KSM parts, and bigger as well of course.
