looks abit like the grey that are on the Mercedes cars. Maybe they try to disguise it as a Mercedes car so nobody will know it is acually a mobile crane? ;)

yeah, they were test driving it on the german Autobahn in disguise I bet!

That is sweet can not wait to get it all set up.
What model out right now would be a good trailer to haul the boom on?

As for US type trailer, I have no idea. But for a European type trailer there are multiple choices. WSI or Zon Nooteboom ballas trailer, or the Goldohofer ballasttrailer from Conrad. The 8-axle Nooteboom semilowloader from Lion-Toys. I'm pretty partial to the Mammoet solution, 7-axle dolly with a big heavy haul truck, and the boom fitted with a kingpin. But to make that you would have to get a Nooteboom MEGA-Windmill transporter, and use the rear dolly. A bit pricey.

From what I have been lead to understand, the three Mammoet are getting will all have different tractor and trailer configurations, depending on location they are going and that all three sets are ready and waiting. I have also been told that regardless of where they go, each trailer will be outfitted with a system that will move the boom into a connection position on the crane without the use of a support crane. As for a model it is a when not if question, again according to my sources, and its a manufacturer issue as two are in contention, one already having some dies made and the other the new favorite of a certain liveries top management. All I know is it is big, bad and beautiful in red and black-so I am happy!!

The LTM 11200 9.1 is truly an amazing piece of work. And I'm starting to really like the red and black.

Take a minute and think. 10 years ago state of the art was the LTM-1500 and AC-650. Now we have the LTM 11200 9.1 in iron and the AC 1000/9 in final design (I don't think it's being fab'd yet). And with the miracle that is the internet and digital cameras, we all get to see it. I'm sure there are German comrades that searched long, high and wide to get film pictures of the large cranes of the time (Gottwalds, Large Demag TC's, big Krupps and such). And for us Americans, think of how hard it was to acquire Transilift or Deep South info prior to 2000. Truly an amazing time in crane construction to say the least.

So I'd like to take a minute to say thank you to the DHS forum, the moderators and all those that contribute information and photos. Threads like this, and the 1:15 4100 make this place great.
