Meanwhile I have finished the body by adding the steps and new rolls on the underside. This was necessary because the turas wheels from the 330d have a slightly bigger diameter than the ones from the Hitachi. And I also made the engine cover.I changed the exhaust pipe once more after I took this picture. I kept some parts from the Hitachi. So you can open the cover when it will be finished. The engine itself is in the paintshop now and getting some pretty yellow. And you can see I already painted the body and reassembled it with the tracks. Making those engraved lines that divide the panels from each other was a real challenge for me.It´s not easy to do this, especially when you have to make a straight line through different kind of materials,e.g. metal and styrene. Now time to put some primer on it.I will now correct a few mistakes. It´s easier to see them when everything is in the same colour.I will then add some more details like the hand rails. And then it will be ready for final painting. Currently,I start with the hydraulic lines.I spent about two hours now just looking at pictures to find out where each line comes from and where it goes to.I counted more than a dozen different lines. But for the model I will only make the major ones.So it´s gonna have 6 or 8. Janh, Great work on the 345DL so far, If you have the engine out for paint and are going to have a working access cover you should try to reverse the engine mounting to go with the left side cooling instead of the right side cooling on the 450, give the valve covers a coat of black and you got a nice looking CAT C13 ACERT. Also there is a great youtube video showing a walkaround, engine/hyd, and in cab detail shots of a CAT 345CL I haven't figured out how to post a link yet, but I can give you the video name/poster, see below. Video name:345C L Walkaround Poster nam: Vantagetes

It will be finished by next weekend. Last night I made the quick coupler and a custom bucket for it. That bucket´s gonna look cool on it ! I promise.

That looks amazing, like the real machine. You are the best I've seen when it comes to 1:50 excavators. Red

That's AWESOME!!! Seriously, you did a really good job, there's only one thing, I think, that is not right. the boom stickers, aren't they a little bit too small?
Except that you're 345D is a real beauty!
