Not a clue mate, the tracks look like that they are offset, but that was probably cause by the fall.

Crazy idea: are they not the lr 1300 actual tracks?? I give up mate

since when where a LR1300's tracks retractable? Look at the center ballast on our machine and look at the weldex machine.  The Weldex one has been modified so the tracks could be retracted to allow the crane to track on narrower roads. Question is with a 100m boom and a back mast was the reduced track width the reason it went over! Mmmmmm Gaz

My 1st impression was that it had collapsed as the the weight of the crane pushed sideways on it as it fell but i've heard a rumor (i must stress its a rumor) that is did not and was being moved that way, an uneven spread, dodgey ground and one hell of a boom length = 1 wrote off LR1300. Liebherr have been heavily involved in the investigation as to what happened, the only reason I can see in that is they are concerned it was the modification that caused or partly caused crane to topple. Gaz Not modified, but an additional undercarriage. It's called LR 1300 SX or 1300/W which was introduced over a year ago  . Several units have been sold (one to Havator , no pics though) and one was at Bauma. Edit: mixontour wrote:

I'd rather say opposite. It can only retract or extend once the machine is lifted up by the hydraulic jacks by the sides of the center ballasts.  Sad to see that happen anyway!
