I to am glad to see its going for display, insted of on to a scrap barge to China.
I like how you guys painted over the picking weights they stuck on there. No sence in "feeding the bears" any more information than they need!

Are you an enviromentist, or do you work for a living?

L O LTeeth Teeth Teeth great set of pics super clear, a quick question for you lads you know the tracks belonging to the big 495 what weight would be in these and what type of configuration trailer would you need to haul them?i have a set of them left over from this model and some us rigs ,any info would be great.
please and thanks regards gus.

Gus, the machine is broke down pretty far for shipping. The track pads (not even the whole side) are a truck load. Catom has moved the buckets, less the door, with a weight of 107,000 lbs. I will try and post a picture later.
Thanks man i was thinking would these pads be in crates and then assembled on site.
regards gus.

Thanks for all the great feedback on this post. It's hard to get pics and load the trucks at the same time. We had a truck load the car body for P&H 250 blast hole drill yesterday headed to a Utah mine.

P & H soon realised they goofed with the slap sided machinery house. If you look at old 1900's and 1600's the cab poked out. They soon realised they had a problem with driver visability with the early 4100 series. They moved the cab out on an extension and various shovels had different support structures under the cab. Minnisota had a lot of 2100's, BE shovels just could not hack the hard work! Cat really have their work cut out if they are going to get BE shovels up to the hard rock capability of P & H machinery. I did a lot of research when I built my 1900AL shovel model.
