Keep your eyes peeled up there guys, I asked the question about the 68 today and it would apear there is another machine of similar size en route to join it. Not 1 but two large crawlers....happy days.

Oh mother, I think I'm going to faint.....

The CC6800 was a dream come true in itself but another large crawler?.

Bruce and PaulR, I'll let you know when to book your ferry tickets....

You guys any idea how far away this place is!!!!! Think

Prob one of the reasons the LTM1500 will not be making its way up there, i'm sure that ATF160 will just about manage the 69t tracks if need be, if not i'm sure the 6800 will be able to self rig them.

In terms of the UK, 900 miles from London plus a 14hr overnight ferry trip north from Aberdeen - but I reckon it would be worth it.

Nevertheless, source yourselves a people carrier or mini bus and start planning. And yes, Paul A you must come too!.

I was actually going to ask how heavy the CC6800 tracks are, but 69t is serious stuff.

Absolutely! Can you imagine the mayhem we could cause on the way up?? I'm sure there would be a pub or two en route, maybe even the odd bridge to jump Teeth

Hello group, time for a small update. Sadly, they have opted to set the crane up in the PC format, so no big crawler for me Sad.

Nevertheless, it is a monster of a crane and I suppose I can't complain Think Wink

This is the progress so far as of today.

Cheers, all going well I'll be back down for a look tomorrow and apparantly the lift(s) are supposed to be taking place on Monday.

I forgot to post this picture of a little buggy thing the Sarens men were using. They stand on the little platform at the back and drive it from there. They were using it as they assembled the main mast sections and I wondered if it was a grease machine?. It's a cool looking little machine though!.

No sign of a second crane yet, but it is only February. Maybe Gaz will do a little digging for more info Pray

I think it's a mobile compressor of a sort. Carries a hydraulic piston to put the pins in the boom to be rid of the ol' sledge hammer! (I think) Teeth

You are right there Jack. The ones we use at work come on a small cart which always gets stuck in the mud. They are smart to mount it on little tracks Applause
