Mariot - I will try to post a picture of my 190DA SerII, and I have built the 1200C a few years ago, but they are really two different machines, size and consruction wise. Thanks for your picture.

WesternStar10 - This 100DH was completely scratch built, only purchased part was teh 3L06 ball bearing I used for making the turntable.

FiatAllis HD41 - The Autocar and Talbert loyboy are both scratch built also.

Brian - I just finished buildingthis. You may be thinking of teh NW 190D(ser I ) that was in TT&C Nov'91.
thanks again to all & hope you enjoy seeing. Dan

Love love love it!
Have always thought a machinery model that could be broken down and firmly resassembled would be a novel idea for a model maker.

"Mariot – please see below a picture of the 190DA and also my 190 dragline models. The third is the 1200C, the “brother” to the 100DH. Hope you enjoy them too."

Daniel D,

Thanks for providing those pictures of your 190, 190-DA, and 1200-C, and thank you kcmtoys for posting them to the forum. Those are terrific models!! I'd LOVE to have that 190-DA pullshovel model especially!! I sure would have loved to see the real machine in operation. Supposedly, only 6 of those were built, and only one 1200-C crane was produced by Northwest.

It would be great if CCM would come out with a model of the 190-DA, as a compliment to the 190-D dragline they produced some years ago.

Terrific work there, and thanks a lot for sharing those!!

Thanks to kcmtoys for posting additional pictures too. and I agree, i had heard only about (6) of the 100-DH's were built, but when I was climbing around a 1200-C, that was used for the catalog / brochure, they told me another company had offered to sell them a couple more, as they were not using them. So this makes me think more than one had been built. Just what I was told, no facts.

John Suckoe - thank you for location info.

Wow! What an amazing model, I've always wanted a NW excavator in my collection. I really do envy you. Perhaps I'll make one someday.

The rest of your collection looks awesome too!

Cheers,
Craig

Cat 245.....Now and Forever

I am looking for industrial auction brochures from Ritchie Bros, Miller & Miller, Forke Bros, First Team Auction, Max Rouse, etc from the 70's, 80's and 90's.I am a collector and heavy equipment enthusiast and these pamphlets are loaded with nice pictures of cleaned and freshly painted equipment.Thet don't have much value once the sale is over but they are a great help to me in preserving the memory of machines that are no longer being built. Please, help my hobby by looking in your old storage boxes and file folders for these old auction sale brochures.Your help is much appreciated.

Daniel, as someone that had spent about two years running a Northwest 100 i say great job!
About time a model gets built of one.
I worked for EME in the late 90's and ran the 100 at their New Egypt pit about 2 miles from where i sit right here. She was a beast to say the least. I remember the aluminum knobs on the tall joysticks would be like two silver ice cubes and i would have to where mittens. Yep, it had/has a 8 1/4 Esco bucket.
Very cumbersome to move and we had a chance of throwing a chain every time.
I dug as deep as she would reach under water to bail up wind rows of sand. I actually hit a layer of soft "lignite" one time. I remember breaking a piece apart the size of a brick and it had the imprints of leaves in it. I took it to my father in laws and we burned it in his wood stove! Guess i should of kept it as a fossil memory.

I have to stop down there and get some pics if she is still together.

We rally round the family, with a pocket full of shells.....
