Ithink the Scania truck is made by Tekno NL, if u look at the tiers they wear the distinct Tekno/ liontoys pattern. I know that Scania sold these models in there webshop and at there facilitys before but never seen a dumptruck only concrete mixer and some other. The lgray n white colours is a mark for there heavy duty series as i understand it.

While i do not have a model in my hands yet, from the pictures i have seen, there does appear to be more fine detailing than usually expected from Conrad, like the mesh walkways, the added piping on the hydraulic cylinders and the flexible hoses.

The models at MinExpo are pre-production pieces and i would not be surprised to see some small changes (Like tinted windows, additional printing) when the production model is released.

Hi Steven, just curious, but were you not a little dissapointed with the lack of models at this years show, as you hinted that there could be some surprise announcements for mine expo back in April?

I have to admit that i was hoping for more announcements at MinExpo, although i am also aware of several model projects which are coming, so mining fans will not be dissapointed, although you may need to wait a little longer before they are launched. At least there will be plenty to pick up at Bauma ;)

Hi Steven, this is interesting, I know we're waiting for the PC8000 and a model of the R9800 and I'm wondering if you know if any of the projects which are coming are of the bigger dump trucks?.

Is the 9100 able to have the stick and boom removed for a truck load?

Thanks for the update Jan. Do you happen to know if it will come with the cab protection and tinted/black cab windows?.

DHS has them listed now as well. And disappointing is an understatement...but then again it is a Conrad replica, the lack of detail should be expected.

But I bet after a cab guard from Eric and a few little custom details to make up for the everyday dullness and it might actually be something! Maybe...

The image of the R9100 released by Conrad is of the pre-production sample. The production model will vary slightly (Including tinted windows)

The model is based on the standard specifications of the machine, which does not include cab guards or narrow mining tracks which is why they are not present on the replica. Maybe this will change at a later date if a model of the front shovel version is produced.

I ran across two listings on eBay this evening of what I guess is the "production" version of the R9100. The differences I can see is the different (too dark in my opinion) cab insert, the valve block behind the boom base is now grey, and they've accented the grills on the right side of the the machine which really looks nice!

Photos are from the auction listings;

Thanks for the photos, it's great to (finally) see the finished product!.

I would tend to agree that the cab windows are a bit too black but I think I can live with it and the other tweaks are good to see. Hopefully the ebay pics show that the model is en route now.

Will you be buying this version?. Perhaps the pre-production one you have will become quite rare.

I have e-mailed Carmen about a light cab insert to swap out for the black one, but have not heard back from her yet. The grey accents on the right hand side make it look a lot nicer. I'll probably pick one up anyway regardless just to be able to display the differences.

Shovelman,

I recently received one (1) Liebherr R9100 mining excavator (Conrad 2941/0) from a diecast dealer in the United States and it has a clear cab insert.
