Steve Steve, I've got a response from Denis on the ring: " Non elle n'a pas été réalisée spécialement pour cette mise en scène, c'est une pièce de récupération qui traînait dans mon atelier. Elle provient d'un gros burineur (brise béton) qui est revenu de réparation. J'ai eu beaucoup de chance, les cotes correspondaient pile poil à la machine". He means that the ring was not specially made for that scene, but that it was a part, lying in his workshop, of a hand concrete breaker that was sent for repair. Luckily enough, it had exactly the same dimensions than the Bucyrus ring. - Conclusion of this story: "never throw anything, as it will be useful one day!" - Conclusion of the conclusion: "but then, you need a very large storage area!" Guy thanks very much for the information, and since I have seen the loads you have on your post I’ve retained all my parts from repairing appliances around the house figuring I could send them to “The Q” but he would probably try to use them to fix up his Smart car and not use them for loads on the thousands of models he still has in boxes.
Again thanks for the information and that gear looks perfect.

One of the trucks is back to the overhaul location with some new equipment:   Apparently, all pieces contribute to something which looks like a sort of kiosk:  To be continued. Guy

  Ring installation can now progress and be satisfactorily concluded with no weather adverse impact. Next time, we'll go back to the mine site with a photographic reportage from P. Duarte, during his visit to LorraMine. Regards. Guy

Guy that tent is great what attention to detail and attention to reality also with every new post. This is such an incredible post.

Guy That is just over the top. Like everything in this mini mine! I’m sure the builders already thought of it, but I would build a little box to place over the battery, paint it blue or red, or red and silver (depending on preferred model) and create my own portable welder

Guy: Is the CAT flatbed a custom stretched piece or stock? It's really cool. Love the crane. What do these guys do for a living? It seems they work on this dio all the time. I couldn't spend that much time playing with my toys. I have to appease the ladies in my life!!! CAW

CAW Craig, The CAT truck was a 8x4 Norscot dumper model modified by Michel into a flatbed with knuckleboom crane: he is the one modifying most of the models seen in that topic. 2 members of the LorraMine team have retired: Michel and Denis, but the later one is more than busy helping daily his son in his small civil engineering company. Olive, the "weathering specialist", is also still active, that means that both are working part-time on the dio during week-ends and holidays. I have to agree as well that their ladies should be complimented for their patience! I hope it helps. Guy
