I have seen really neat dio's on here .im doig mine becase i think of my models as my minnie fleet .. as im sure some guys buy models based on what companies have around them. Ive seen every kind of dio on here.from mining to logging the more attention to little things the better . and on here ive seen alot of detail ...it is neat to see replications in minnie small word . and while true the dio dosent move its like there frozen in time working in the scenes .......build one you know you want to

Here is why you build dioramas ......to enjoy the art in it's own right.

You can ask the question why as many ways as you like ...it smells fishy to me....I could ask you why you drive to work? when you could walk....because you can...and I don't build dioramas, but am very appreciative of the ones on this forum.

Here is the best in the world .....if you can't see why then maybe you should ask another question. Don't mean to be rude or insulting but only when you build one for yourself will you understand.

And why not, if you have worked with the real the real machines it makes sense to display them in a working enviorement.

I also have an extensive model train layout, and try to recreate events I have experienced in my career

In other words "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys"

enjoy the world

One of the best Dio I have ever seen was of a openpit mine.It was a Scottish fourm users freinds ,the shear scale (I'm sure it took over the garage) with the trucks having working lights etc.Clearly a lot of time had been put into it and it showed it was fantastic. If memory serves me correct I think he was looking to rework it.I do hope the fourm user who first posted the pictures can shed some more light on this.
