SAMF wrote:Hi Weserhutte https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSka5RI4trIThe difference between the Tractomas and Mack Titan is the total weight moved, for Tractomas on each trailer there to 85 tons coal and a total weight of 585 tonnes. For the Mack Titan road train with up to 130 t payload capacity, and a total weight of about 180/200 tons. But then, I do not commit myself too much on the given weight,There is indeed an Australian colleague on this forum that can rectify my errors given for the road train Mack. Samf Hi Sam let me first say I'm impressed with the custom combos.. they look great The Mack Titan road train is a little large for on-highway use though, the max length we run is 53.5m (54m in one state) which equates to the below combo, payload is around the 105t mark with the gross combo restricted to 171t GVM the reason which you may be assuming the longer combo is from a well known company who used to run on private haul roads with a much larger combo road train (Gulf/BulkHaul) One of these trailers is actually powered with an additional motor/trans/tandem drive to assist getting the loaded unit going.. not too sure on total weights off the top of my head but I seem to think it was up around the 200t payload.. the same company was also responsible for the development of the "PowerTrans" prime mover which has up to a 600t payload (also pictured)
