I agree with the others Jason - this is on a different level from all your other stuff, which is already very good. This is a masterpiece and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves!

Here you can see the details added to the underside of the model aswell as the weathering added Glad the model is done well most of it, all the pieces are done because today my computer took a dump on me, i do save everything to a exteral device luckily. Now to spend a ton of money on a new cad laptop NIkl Scale Models

Simply mind blowing job. I just love the detail of the cab especially the roll of blue shop towels. Even the residual dirt on the floor from the operators work boots. It's always the little details that make a project like this feel complete. You are very gifted at what you do. Nice work! "It's O-gauge or no gauge..."

Wow! This came together brilliantly. The weathering looks very realistic and the detailing is tremendous. You have definitely risen to a new level in craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing your progress. Take care and all the best.

Awesome job Jason. That's one of the best weathered models I've ever seen. You should really post at the Rustbucket forum. Once a year they have a contest for the best weathered model of the year. You definitely have a winner here believe me. Good to know the blue material is shop towels. I thought it was a yoga carpet Stephane

Actually, can I make one suggestion? Can you chrome the pistons? You can buy chrome adhesive tape that would work well. The only issue then is that if the pistons are a tight fit in the cylinders, there might not be enough room for the tape layer. That's the only thing though!!

I am going to give them a nice sanding it was one of the last things on the list to do. I am actually replacing the boom cylinder housings. These are to tight to allow correct up down motion. The nrw ones are primed just need a nice few shots of orange spray NIkl Scale Models

I agree with Jamie that the pistons are the only thing that stick out. Otherwise the model is absolutely fantastic. And I can't wait to see what you do with the EX1200. As for chroming the pistons, you may not need to do that - my own experience with scratch-building pistons lead me to use telescopic antenna segments. They are ideal because they are really cheap (probably five bucks a pop where you are), the chroming is high quality, and you get many diameters of tube in each antenna, as many as ten. Just a thought!

Great idea with the antenna, might have to try with the ex1200. Well unfortunately i am not going to be able to get the bucket done i wanted so i am going with this bucket. Still looks great either way I also installed the new main boom cylinder housings. This will allow me to move the boom much easier for posing. Today i too the model to a highway expansion project down the road from my house for so cool pictures, much better then trampoline , lol Next pics will be from the show next week, wish me luck Jason NIkl Scale Models
