Had a pick once in a 1160 max boom, i two blocked on purpose and told the rook to climb up the boom and there's a tiny little switch at the very tip of the boom that he needed to flick so we could start working...
The look on his face was priceless!!

Yeah there are a lot of great apprentices but then there are a few that shouldn't get in the seat... It does look like a LTM 1100 5.2 to me, I could be wrong

It didn't sound like any of the operators or riggers were jumping to get on that crane, cause it will be on the road all the time. Not everybody wants to travel all the time. It was mentioned that if the got one the riggers would be doing yard drills till they got the set up down right... Fritz

send the smrt apprentice to get a metric hammer, that'll shut 'em up for a while.

Christian...another question if that is OK with you....Is there any code in the model code system that gives an indication if all axles steer or some are fixed? Thanks for your reply in advance....Gary

Thanks for your reply in advance....Gary no up to a certain size all steer anyway... ltm1400-7.1 all axle steer. LTM1500 6 out of 8 and sometimes you get variations within one and the same model, for example the LTM1800 exists in 6 and 7 axle steered version on new cranes (for example LG1750) all ax,es steer, so such an info would be useless in the type.
