The reefer unit on the truck was homemade - based on pictures from that period - while the one on the Blumhardt trailer is a Modeltruck Onderdelen white metal kit (see below):



It is an accurate 1/50 model of Thermoking vintage units which were fitted on most reefer trailers and semi-trailers during the period 50s/70s.

We're still in Germany but during a much darker period with 4 Solido(*) models representing Wehrmacht armored vehicles used on the Russian front in the period 1943/44:





From left to right:
- MAN Pz.Kpfw.V/Ausf.G main battle tank (700hp, weight: 44.8 tonnes, one 75mm canon and two 7.92mm machine-guns),
- Krupp Pz.Kpfw.IV/Ausf.F2 battle tank (300hp, weight: 25 tonnes, one 75mm canon and two 7.92mm machine-guns)
- Büssing-NAG/Deutsche Werke GS 8x8/8 armored radio reconnaissance vehicle (155hp, weight: 8.5 tonnes, one 20mm canon and one 7.92mm machine-gun),
- Hanomag H Kl 6p armored personnel carrier half-track (100hp, weight: 7.81 tonnes, two 7.92mm machine-guns).

Note (*): these 4 models were bought on e... a few years ago and are all stamped Solido on the underside. But I couldn't find any trace of that sort of camouflage in the Solido range: are these Code 3 models? Or small series made by companies like Verem? Hachette? Gaso.line. Other?
As I am not a specialist in military modeling, any additional information is welcome.

A Spada heavy transport in the Nice area during the 60s/70s, which was at the origin of Jean-Jacques' set. Hardly visible at rear, there is a second Berliet truck pushing a Rogers ex-tank transporter which went in reverse mode all the way: not an easy task for the driver, for sure!!! Luckily enough, roads were not that busy at that time and average speed of the heavy haulage set was pretty low, giving the rear driver enough time to react and realign the rear drawbar trailer, if required:

In Great Britain during the 50s, 2 Bedford trucks Type O, designed by the British company before WW2:





- To the left: Bedford OLAC 4x2/2 high volume box truck (72hp, GVW: 6.05 tonnes, GCW: ?? tonnes): modified Corgi model,
- To the right: Bedford OLB 4x2/2 flatbed truck (84hp, GVW: 7.62 tonnes, GCW: ?? tonnes): modified Corgi model fitted with a homemade bed.

I used to play, like every kid at that time, with Dinky Toys and didn't care at all for their different scales.
I still have a few of these, generally 1/55 or even smaller, but all are in play-worn condition.
A few years ago, I realized that quite a lot of their models produced before (or around) 60s were in an accurate 1/48 scale: that's why I started looking at them again on e... or in swapmeets.

As far as I know, Britains models are in a slightly larger scale, so I don't have any.
