Here is a picture showing the main truck frame with the front steering axle and the rear axle and the wheels mounted. You can also see the front and rear fenders are bent and welded in place. One fuel tank is mounted to the farm now and you can see I have the second tank built and ready to mount to the frame. Now I am going to design the front air cleaners next.

Starting to look good Don. May I ask what are all those John Deere oil filters in the right cornor of the picture are for?

The John Deere filters on my workbench are for my three John Deere Tractors.
I got the two front air cleaner assemblies built for the Dart and mounted under the front fenders last night.
Next I will work on the front bumper and radiator . It seems like I get a lot done quick, but I spend 12 hours a day in my workshop . When you enjoy what you do, it doesn't seem like work, it seems like fun .

Here is todays progress on the Dart , I got the front bumper and the radiator built and attached to the frame and the steps and part of the railings . After I finish the streps and railings, I will begin the design on the cab.

Here is the first picture of the Dart bottom dump trailer progress. Now the whole model is roughed in and you can get a good idea of the overall look and size of the project on my workbench. I am very pleased how it is looking at this stage.

Here is a picture I took this morning of some of the sanded and primed parts for the Dart . I am now sanding the bottom dump trailer and should get it primed by tonight.

Don,
I have a picture of me somewhere standing in front a Dart 4150, it was taken around 1984 when I had hair and was considerbly thinner, it was taken at a managers picnic in the Aramco town of Udhhailiyah in Saudi Arabia, they used it to tow a huge mobile drillling rig around the desert, I saw it once coming the other direction on a freeway, any thing in the way was pushed off the road into the sand, there was 14 miles of two lane traffic trapped behind it, fantastic sight. Good luck with your model.

regards
kevin.

Here is a picture from today with the Dart bottom dump trailer almost all sanded . After lunch I will get it primed and tomorrow I will start painting the parts. This afternoon I will cut out the first frame parts for the Euclid Heavy Haul Lowboy tractor frame.

Here is one of several pictures I just posted on my webpage of the almost finished painted Dart 4160 150 ton coal hauler truck model. I am very pleased how it turned out. I still have several things to do , but you can see the overall painted look of it .
Anyone wanting to see more pictures of it can go to
www.doncampbellmodels.com
and go to the photo sections, then the ( trucks ) section and see them.

Wow, awesome. And it took you only one month to build it. That´s just amazing.

Thanks again for the kind words ,
Once again, it's obvious it is far from perfect, but another very fun truck model to build.
I did get the front steering axle built and attached and the first side mounted tank built and attached to the side of the frame this afternoon so now the Heavy haul tractor is sitting on wheels.
I will post the first picture once I get a little farther along.
