Was out and about today taking pictures. Combined with a few older ones, I figured I would have something to share with everyone here.

Old Autocar that spends its remaining days at the hot rock plant. Her only job is to haul left over asphalt from the silos to the RAP pile, and to haul cold patch asphalt from the silos to the bagging facility.

Typical asphalt rig for the area

A couple shots from Triple R Trucking. These guys haul cement. How about some of the pneumatic trailers from sword? They also haul bagged cement on flatbeds. Along with a few of their power units

A pneumatic trailer that hauls sugar from the beet plant to the bagging and storage facility

A few of lowboys and asphalt mills parked for the season

Now we move on to the Michigan trains Most of these rigs are rated to gross out at 164,000 lbs. You should hear the reaction on the cb from out of state truckers and their puny 80,000lbs trucks.

A short double, kinda like a train, but usually a tri axle, or quad axle dump pulling a pup. These dont haul quite as much as the trains, but they are a lot easier to back into tight spots

A few demo trucks

Now on to the precast haulers. Someone was asking about Thruway trailers a while ago. These guys pull thruways all the time. If you have driven over a concrete bridge in Michigan, chances are, these guys precast the beams used.

Love the pics, keep 'em coming. Can you tell me what the axle load is in your area. It seems quite low as you have a lot more axles on your trailers than in my country. In my country it's 16.5t per axle at full speed, reduce the speed and the weight can go higher. I don't know the maximum load, but I would like to know.

you need 11 axles to haul 80 tons gross vehicle weight, with those massive trucks? phew. from what time do your weight laws date? 1885?

i would have thought that a rig massive like that with 11 axles and a big Kenworth in front would go for 11x12 tons per axle.

dont get me wrong! great pics of great trucks, but really strange legislation

Christian, mine is not to reason why, only to comply. You think our laws are strange, go to Ohio. Where a 6 axle dump truck can haul me 25 tons, But a tandem axle can haul me 15 tons. So four more axles is only good for an extra 10 tons, or 2.5 tons per axle?

Dewoc, from what i remember, this style truck is similar to the trucks used in your area

What kind of weight can this rig haul in your area?

Wow those are some serious axles, pretty ridiculous if you ask me. 8 axles on a flowboy? The most around here in Buffalo is 2 with a drop axle on the trailer.

Nice pics nonetheless, love that RX700 on that lowboy

Yes, it may seem strange, but what do those flowboys in Buffalo have for a gvw?

im not a driver so im not up to date on the laws but our trailer dump will regularly gross out at well over 104,000 loaded, thats a tandem axle tractor and a 2 axle terminator dump trailer. almost never see 3 axles on anything but a lowboy. our 10 wheeler mack dumps are good for 76,000 and i think a triaxle is only good for 2,000 more. theres 100 yard mulch trailers here that only carry 2 axles . even the demo companys run 2 axle trailers. not many pup set ups here...and ive only seen a few flowboys and they were also 2 axle.interesting diferences from state to state

I would think that the truck tire business does wel up there lol.

That's one way to spread out the weight. How well do they turn?

I remember once a fellow brought me 26 tons of stone on a tri axle. It was funny, you could not even see it stick above the side boards.

yeah thats what trucks in IL look like, you will never see a semi dump with anymore more than that TYPICALLY

IL you can carry 72,000 (no more than 18,000 per axle if i remember correctly)

Try NJ 70000 lb tandem dumps and 50000 lb 2 axel dumps with constructor plates , 80000 lb triaxels we have bridge formula but its not inforced . Then the special trailer tag unlimited weight only 800 lb per lin/inch on tire cap , thats how Mal Bros and Confortti can haul 350000 gross on 6 axels with 14x24 tires !!!! No need for jeeps and stingers here !!!Pa good too 27000 axels just keep adding them on !! Schuykill Products runs 5 axel tractors like Michigan and the same Elk river dollys in 6 axels.110 ton beams 161 ft long .spibeams.com John
