It will be good for the US guys to see this style of float as it works very well and fits the machines on the deck a lot better than the meccano style trailers IMO

This model even in its development stage looks a winner, I put my name on the list for one in Brisbane the other day...just good to see an Aussie model out there in the marketplace, Drake needs to be commended for their efforts....the fellow from Drake was saying that the KW will have a Cummins powerplant as it will be built to the same specs as the real thing on the road. Having said that I hope this opens the gates a bit to maybe a new line of Aussie models, I would be happy to see a triple stock crate road train in RTA or Hampton colours down the trackPray or a Gulf tipper set for that matter. Anyway it looks like this one will be a good seller, I know where one will be heading when they are releasedSmile
Cheers

PS: Gary W my Norscot Peterbilt/ float & D8 made it back to Victoria in one piece- Qantas didnt inflict any damage to it on the way homeTeeth

Stripeyjack,

Yes, we are confident that the T908, Dolly and Low Loader will be very popular.

Glad to hear that Qantas can deliver the goods and in one piece.

Here is a possible livery for the model. Also found a good use for the 8750 dragline bucket model from TWH....!!

Missing the dolly in these pictures but still good!!

I am hoping this may encourage the Aussie guys to post some of the liveries they see out on the roads.

Gavin,

Yes, T J Clarks [Tom himself] was contacted by Sandra to take part in this project, however at this time they have not yet replied.

Intereresting fact that it was actually T J Clarks new 2 x 8 Dolly and 4 x 8 Swing Wing that was actually measured up by THW at Drake Trailers for this project as it was the one availabel straight off the production line.

The KW T908 is based on the Specs from North Qld Heavy Haulage.

Thanks Gary for the quick response, i know all the Clarks very well and have worked on and off with them in over 20 years through my association with all 3 NSW Cat dealers in that time. I will drop into the yard nextweek and give him a hurry up!!!

Funny story goes a number of years ago when Jimmy Barnes was making the film clip for his hit song "Driving Wheels" he wrang Bill Clark up to see if he could use there truck in the film clip and Bill told him to pi$$ off as he was to busy!!

Gavin,

Ha ha, that's great about Jimmy Barnes........no doubt a 'Kodak' moment!!!!

The first run is limited to 2000 pieces [Prime Mover, Dolly and Trailer sets] with an additional 1000 Prime Mover models being produced.

We would appreciate any assistance to get some more company liveries.

Gary

Here is a couple of pics of this trailer and dolly arrangement.
The truck, dolly and float belongs to Regal Transport.A Perth based company formed when Strategic Transport and N&L Transport become one.
