Dobronos,

They are manufactured by TWH, therefore 1:50 scale.

Only Tonking produced truck models in 1:53 scale.

I am getting older, so forgive the dumb question if it has been discussed, any word on pricing?

It is a killer looking model! I just love those down under tractors, the high intakes and those bull bars make them look so cool!

Bob, DHS has them priced at $329-$349.

Here is another question about this model. What are all the extra sets of wheels/tires for?

Are they spares?

Or are they used when the trailer is spread apart?

Thanks Bob

Bob, they are all spares. They are required because there are so many tyres (the trailer alone runs on 32 tyres) and where these rigs travel is often pretty remote with no tyre service people close hence the need for so many spares.

Here in New Zealand we run very similar heavy haulage setup, although we call these types of trailers "Wideners". A few years ago I worked for a company that brought a brand new trailer (we already had a dolly) our trailer was spec'ed with 3 rows of 8 (so 24 tyres).

On the delivery trip an air hose came loose (it hadn't been tightened correctly by the manufacturer) all the trailer axles locked at 100km/hr! Needless to say we weren't carrying 24 spares but were able to limp home after changing a couple that had punctured. However, final net result- replace 24 brand new "flat spotted" tyres with 24 brand new tyres!

Somewhere I have some photos of some pretty amazing shifts we did with these types of units (I was quite often the Licenced Oversize Pilot for these shifts so got to see and go to some interesting places) if I can find them I'll try and post some.

Needless to say, for old times sake, I have order one of these models...

Regards Barry

i seen a yellow one,the truck is yellow but the dolly and trailer looked to be cat yellow?????????????

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

but i have to say that livery wise some nice ones have unfortunately been overlooked

can anyone identify the transport company that owns this beauty? or get me contact details of the owner (i don´t dare to ask for more pics, but of course that would be main goal)
