(if you want to see more of the model or any other model i have, go to my website at the bottom) ill also post a link to the model page so it will be easier.

got another package day today, it was yet another DOTD purchase! got some really nice items popping up chuck, thanks!!

here is the 5540F carrydeck crane pics

its very small and compact!

size comparison with the RT540E, this is full boom and jib

very nice model, its packed with details! only downfall is the string, not enough is supplied and the hooks dont weigh enough to keep tension so the string twistsConfused , but other than that, great little modelApplause

I bought that little crane during the March dotd, its my first crane model. I believe the price was lower this round though. Good deal though and a very nice model.

got another package today, only this time it was a BIG box! it is the Terex Demag CC 8800!, this thing is a beast, just simply huge, i cant even imagine what the 31000 will be likeDrool Drool , i got this from a guy on ebay for 780 bucks. only thing that was wrong with it are the ladders to get up onto the undercarriage are broke. only thing i dont like about it are the tracks, they keep coming apart if it rolls, and the hook is definately a pain in the ***, i had the block taken apart and mounted to the table so it would keep tension but as i was reeving it, the string came off the drum, i guess conrad didnt supply enough cable or the guy cut a ton of string off, none of the drums have enough cable, so i guess ill be ordering alot of musky soon, i knew the gantry wouldnt have enough so i was going to re string it with musky but im out of the stuff Confused , but other than that, great model!
I finally have all 3 big crawlers!!!!:d/

Glad you could pick up this little fella! and a good price too,

about the tracks, was this a "feature" (flaw) of the 1st run of cc8800's?

the thing with the short string, the thread comes on little spools, and you wind it onto the winches,so chances are they guy reeved the block then wound on a little bit to the drum, and cut the rest,I think this is what I did, many moons ago Teeth

so its a quick email to Tim Clamp and some Musky to finish it off,

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

the original tracks on the first run of CC8800s were just push together with little nipples that fit into a notch, the 2nd run all the links were pinned together....

i emailed Conrad about it and they sent me new tracks... so you should be able to get the same.... but with mine, i just asked how much new tracks were, never to have them sent and they replied back telling me the price and to send them money and they would send me tracks, well i never sent them money and then like a month or so later a package showed up with the tracks and a letter asking for payment, needless to say i never paid cause i never told them to send them to me, guess that was their fault!

nice addition to the fleet.... i got a bunch more cranes showing up in the next few weeks and such.... cant wait to get them

Great Brandon.Your'e behind my steps.LOL.

I also bid on this one on Ebay. But I've seen it didn't met the reserve price.Good you got it.

Got the same problem with the tracks, well, with one side.If i even look at it,it will disassemble.Wich I have done,is with a pliers try to close with much care the "female" tooth so the "male" tooths hold better. So far has been working.

thanks guys,
yeah these are from the first batch i guess, there are no pins holding them together, ive tried squezing them together with pliers but no luck, i would drill them out and add pins but im sure i could get new ones from conrad quicker Confused , yeah after seeing jose get one, i might as well get one before its too late, i told the guy on ebay that if he didnt sell it, i would take it cause i knew no one was going to bid his reserve price for it 850$, so it never sold so i told him i would give 780 for it, glad i got it even though its not perfect, i will definately be adding brass sheaves and the walkway kit to it after i get the jib, need to get it before they are gone.

are the jib sections the same size as the main boom sections? i noticed they dont make a ext kit for the jib so im guessing you can add main boom sections to the jibThink
