I just saw this on the dutch forum.. Translated using google.. 'the coke drum transport that Mammoth has conducted two years ago. Apparently comprising Western Star tractor / pushers (2 pieces) and 2 10-line Scheuerle Inter Combinations in USA version. So as long as a Euro 18-liner. And as load on draaischamels and saddles, braces (all in mammoth version) on the coke drum'. http://www.bouwmachineforum.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=23871&start=20Looks like wsi are breaking into the US models market.

Good find, though I had my suspicions ever since the Scheuerle models were announced. It seemed a no brainer to me! It will also make an amazing model, though I suspect the price tag will be quite high too.

The model will probably come with two tractors and then WSI will release a single tractor unit to match! Paul

That's a total of 8 put on for one hill. Brian

That is some great news, I've been waiting for us trucks from WSI for a long time now, hopefully this is just the begining
I hope it will be Western Star trucks instead of Kenworth as Kenworth has already been done by ASAM

I have waited for this for some time now ) ..... I think this is just what Mammoet needs in the model line-up! Back in August I met with some of the folks at Mammoet and the topic of Models got brought up... we discussed the line and how there isnt really many models of what is used in the North American markets... Great to see this!! ... Who knows, I may be able to add it to my collection someday... haha Cheers, Greg

im not gonna lie here, i really like this model and while im not as huge into Mammoet stuff as BobM is, if the price isnt out of this world i might consider this one for the collection, im sure its going to be steep though!

Maybe I'm missing something but it looked to say on Bouwmachine site that the tractors are going to be Western Star. Looks pretty interesting either way. I'm certainly up for a couple of tractors at least.

You are right enough there Chris. But looking closely at the pictures, each truck is slight different. Hood has a different slope, bull bar is different as one has a brace and the other does not, fuel tank and tool box layout is different, antenna layout and exhaust stacks different, front fenders different.............. so if the drawing is true then 2 different trucks.

So if it is coming with Western Star's these will be US versions, does this mean that WSI will be doin Aussie version Western Stars?

No worries Paul as I wasn't directing anything towards you or anyone. I don't get on here as much anymore as I used to.....(domestic life and all).....so I thought I might have overlooked something while looking through, as I often tend to do.
All that said, and even though I'm a griper against model prices and ever greater numbers of model releases, I welcome any knew addition to the US truck line up in 1/50 so long as it's of decent quality and true scale accuracy.
Western Star KW Pete, whatever.....the more the merrier, I hope.
