That is a simply amazing picture. The size difference is almost incomprehensible it dwarfs the 18000. I could only imagine the feeling one gets when standing next to one fully rigged and on the move.

it is almost hard to imagine how big that thing really is, i mean the pictures probably dont do it justice. it seems impossible to me that that is an affordable route to take now days but i guess there are a bunch of bean counters somewhere that said it was. i am just looking at the support equipment it takes to get it there and put it together it must be an astronomical amount of $$$$. i would love to know what the bill is before they swing the first piece with that beast. its crazy you need a 600 ton rig to put that other rig together.

i thought i read somewhere or was verbally told that the cost to ship it from Germany to the US was 10 mill Euros, but maybe that # seems a bit high

BP refinery is in Indiana suburb of Chicago in Whiting. You can see the refinery, but of course the map hasn't been updated to see the 13000.

Should have used all red instead of the 13000. Going to be a huge crane for sure be interesting to see when its all up

31000 would have matched the rest of the cranes there, plus it is right up the road, not across the pond! But it is cool to see this beast here!

No Im not, it's 275 miles away from where I live, if i could get up that close, I would make the trip but if not, no point in going. I'm getting those photos from a friend on Facebook, I guess he works there. Is it accessible to get that close from where these photos were taken, for public? I see there's a parking lot there but I'm sure it's for workers and probably need a pass to get in
