Quote:I didnt know the WP tip can go straight I guess you are the first one to find out , have not seen it here on the forum before. A lot of 16000 owners are now looking at the tip. But you are right it the heavy lift version is the better option. Nice find BTW Eef

A good find! Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I think the hinge movement is only to lay flat for ease of transport and work at height issues during assembly. Once erected it sits at either 28 or 35 degrees, a choice of 2 x pin points, there is no chart for 0 degrees. The wind-tip on the 750t Liebherr is very similar but it pivots on the top and when erected comes back onto fixed stops. Cheers, Mark If you only do what you've always done, you will only get what you always got!

I am in the process of doing some upgrades to my 16000 as well, I will be replacing the factory wire with musky and putting a brake on as well.
I will also be converting mine to the heavy lift tip.
I am also considering selling 2 of the 40' sections that came with mine. They would be the sections that have the extra sheave and the connection for adding a connection between the boom and pendants. If anyone is interested in these send me a PM.

Try connecting the bracket for the tensioner to the bottom side of the boom instead of the top.

I believe so, I have the full version and that's how that particular boom section was connected straight out of the box

The brochure also shows the 20' section being down towards the bottom of the boom instead at the very top, not sure how much of a difference that would make

I just redid the boom with a 40 at the top like Bretts picture and its good. I relocated the 20 lower. My THW drum key was a little sloppy and rounded. I took an NZG LR1600 square key and filed it down slightly to fit the TWH drums. Can now apply power to the drums. Nice!!

We'll see if anyone notices We own a 16000 with the WP tip and have few scale models up at corporate (I guess they give you a few when you buy a 1:1). I'll bet no one knows the model tip can be adjusted....I didn't, and I look at the thing every day!

Only gripe i have with the cranes is they need a pin across the A fame to stop the reeving jumping (when someones curious prying fingers touch them grrrr) like the YCC hook blocks. .
