Hi Felipe,
just came back from a 4-week stay n Cameroon. They use CAT 966Cs over and over. Used your pictures of a ripper-equipped 966 scale model to discuss it with road builders. Great enthusiasm for your models from this guys, Felipe. Same to the D8 models, due to easy raod transportability its the number one dozer down there.

Max nice see this post! Here is the same from Cameroon. Many 966B,C and R. A. Large amount from D8H and. K. That's the cause I use it so much in my modified models. I am in vacation yet. I hope post pics from D8K and my new TD25 dresser with rops cab soon!

Felipe we thought some guys from Italy paid you a visit, glad to see it wasn’t you they wanted. I guess now they will be busy doing surveillance in NC, I hear some guy down there is hauling in and around a townhouse without greasing the proper palms. Hopefully they know they will spend more time away at college for going after senior citizens.
Now Felipe when do we get to see some pictures, I’ve spent far to much time with my wife.

Hi Frusso,
thanks for the pictures of the 834 and the 988. Seeing these, it brings back some memories about the development of this two CATs. Heinz-Herbert Cohrs, to some from this forums here also known as Emmo Cohrs, was one of the best german authors about construction equipment. In one of his books "Caterpillar & Zeppelin"; he states that the wheel dozer version was developped before the 988 wheel loader!
He told us that CAT was looking for some capable and manouvreable scraper pushers and started developping the 824 and the 834, the first CAT machines with articulated steering ever. On the Chicago Road Show 1963, CAT then presented a 824 wheel tractor with loading shovel - this machine was named 988 later on. As the 824 and 834 were thaught to be true scraper pushers. Therefor mainframe, axles, transmissions were extra heavy duty and were the ideal base to form the 988 wheel loader.
Emmo quotes further an german heavy equipment magazin to prove this strange seeming way of developping the 988. I never found this story again on the internet but thought its worth sharing here.
And thanks for sharing the pics of the C-6. Ive never seen one in reality, but from what I can judge by youtube videos, despite being quite compact dozers, they really could push and rip. The operator just had to get used to the storm in his neck.

Hi Felipe,
Your Euclid C6 is a really eyecather in your breathtaking collection.
Did you paint the exhaust pipe into silver colour or is it original by EMD?
