How many of these were actually made? The production runs listed seem really high compared to how many I see available and the prices that go with them.

I am pretty sure they were $425.00 when they first came out. I have seen them at auction bring $1600.00. They came out quite a while ago, and now you have collectors who missed out on them, or are new to collecting.Whistle d'oh!

I bought and sold two of those years ago in dark blue. I had one of them on my shelf for a while, I remember what a task it was to put it together, had a hard time getting all of the pins to line up. Those pins also had keeper pins on them, after that was putting all of the air or hydraulic lines together. It wasn't easy but it was a beautiful model if you're into that kind of truck. Be prepared to give up a lot of shelf space if you get one.

It's incredible to me that these used to retail for $420!

What blows my mind is back when Chuck did the "Deal of the Day" in 2009/2010, they were half of the retail price. I ought to kick myself not buying one then.

I think that at that time, these models were probably the best heavy haulage models available at the time.

I did have the DGE Heavy Haulage one but sold it some years ago. Kinda wished I hadn't but at the time it seemed the right thing to do. I was really hoping the Sword bridge beam trailer and truck were going to make production but seems that one died off unfortunately

Rivera2171: I couldn't agree more. Too bad TWH went out of business. Those first trucks were far better than WSI versions IMO. I wish we had some older trucks made by TWH. Wouldn't you love some Macks, Autocars...etc? CAW
