While I would buy it just for the western stars, I have to say, The kenworths dont look too shabby either. A few months ago, I was staying at the same hotel as the guys from the Texas Division. They had this rig sitting in the lot.

It will come with a KW up front and a Western Star in back. Then the KW and Western Star will be released separately. This is the "big" one for 2011 and is one of what should be 8 releases. The birdies in the wind are chripping $750US/599 EU, but that is only chripping in the wind!! I know for one my set up will have two KW and three Western Stars! Now we finally have the makings of a PTC diorama!

@Eric-once you go red and black-you won't go back!!!!!

Very Interesting News., now the Kenworth truck I have a question What Model would be I have seen and the Guys at Mammoet Use T800W, and the ones in The Pic look the C500 any input on that ..I doubt that they will use the T800W that SWORD just produce. even if they make new tooling ( like tandem axle and sleeper).

Jeez, thats pushing it a bit now in fairness.. €750??? Sick Its definitely not worth that in my opinion, even the price of €599 that bob stated seems a bit expensive Think Yet again it seems a big lump of plastic will add huge expense to the model, as is the case with the MWT and blade transporter.

just think of the mighty fine huge box you get with the model though,a perfect reason to buy, best value for money model made so far,I'm so glad I hung up my Mammoet boots years ago,

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Ouch, I thought the possible price of 599(600) Euro was pretty hefty but 750 Euro is insane!.

Theoretically, it would be interesting to know how many collectors throughout the world who were planning/hoping to buy this model will forget about it on seeing the price and one wonders what the model manufacturers are achieving with that.

If my dream crane of a Mammoet LR11350 was released and priced at 750 Euro, or even above 500, I'd probably have to make the tough decision and walk awaySad. The point I'm making is that low wage earners like myself are slowly being priced out of some parts of the hobby.....

Oh well, I look forward to the pictures though!.

I'd like to just get a handful of the tractors (in blank white even) and forget about the load and trailers. Anxious
Don't get me wrong the trailers especially would be great to have.

This will be a lengthy piece.

I'm with you, I would love to have a dozen blank white tractors. Just have to wait and see.

i dont think that would happen, it could, but i find it highly unlikely

yeah i think a price of 750 euros is ridiculous, thats about $1000, im not going to be blowing that kind of money on something like this, would be nice to see the price come down as it looks to be a very promising model, we shall see.... but like others, probably will pass on this one

Where did 750Euro come from? I did not read that in any thread. My info is $750 US, 599 Euro. Not defending it but $150 or so per truck, $250 or so for the trailer, $150 for the coker and Mammoets cut? People gladly pay $2000 for an Alan Smith girder trailer set up, I did and have seen numerous ones go at auctions for far beyond that. So for a five piece model set the price, though seemingly high is not all that horrible. I am not defending them and would love to see a price of $500USA or less. I guess we all just have to wait and see.

Bob is correct, but the price will be higher. Includes KW C500, Western Star Prime Mover, Huge Scheuerle Trailer, All-Metal Coke Drum, and all the trimmings. Fantastic model!!

Bob,
SCANIAKOBELCO wrote that figure in his reply and suggested it came from Mammoet.

I can't disagree that the price is high but I also think there has been a awful amount of work done in bringing this model to the collector. It will unfortunately mean that not everyone can afford it, but then not everyone can afford an Audi R8. I have not even heard numbers yet. It may be there will be a 1000 of them which would further increase the debate on price. But then there could just be 100, though I doubt it.

At the end of the day, you still have a choice - take it or leave it. I'll be honest and say I am hoping to take it but with the prospect of moving house at some point this year (hopefully sooner rather than later), I might be forced to leave it.
