looks awesome man, the Riga livery is very nice looking. the realism with the hydraulic lines is really nice. To bad about having to put her back away but you are moving to a new house soon so then you will get to pull them all back out and let them stretch again

Dear all, ever since Gaz posted this ( Steelcraft ) back in June 2008, I have wanted to do a repaint of it. Even bought the paint and decals that summer! But, here we are almost 3 years later and I finally got around to it:       Overall, I am quite happy with the result but have to be honest and say it was not as good as I'd originally hoped. Main issue was getting the decals to match the paint, which I was not able to achieve. Pin striping was also quite difficult!! But this is also the first model where I have used clear lacquer to seal the decals and have to say that I wished I'd done years ago! Very happy with the result of that trial  Thanks for looking, Paul R

The Steelcraft looks amazing, great job. I am on the prowl to get a telescopic crawler to add to my collection, if this one was actually offered I would definitely nab one.

Very nice work Paul! I like the livery and think the decals are great. BTW, are you doing your own decals, or do you have them made? Decals are my single biggest deterrent for repaints, and I would like to fix that.

I have the decals made by Birger at DreamDock.de. He does a pretty good job. But for the Felbermayr I had to go to DecalPrint.de as Birger could not do them (licensing issues). They were also very good decals.
The next repaint will be a lot bigger and could be more challenging! Although I still have an LTM1200-5.1 destined for Felbermayr colours. I just haven't found any decent pictures of the real one to be able to get the right decals made.

Just a couple of progress shots of my latest project:   Still quite a few things to do (namely decals and touch up some paint work) but I could not resist putting it together just to see how it looked! Need to find a better way to paint the wheel rims and some of the warning stripes are a little dodgy, but it was my first attempt at painting them instead of using decals. This is the first part. Hope to do the upper structure next and then the boom sections but this will take some time due to work and weather. Overall, I don't think it looks too bad though. the same on all AC500's regardless
