Jeff,
here is the picture of the tool for winding the drum:

WARNING The drum on my model was very stiff and I broke one of the tools trying to free it up. This is not a big issue but getting the broken piece out is because the piece it fits into is magnetized!!

Managed to get the beast rigged today, except for the drum due to the problems mentioned earlier.

The boom is raised!

Counterweight has individual bolts to attach them. A nice touch

Only January and already a contender for model of 2012 Smile

As much as I like the Sarens version, the MSG is something behold! Paint job is amazing and can only really be appreciated in person. Just wish I had the TWH Grove version Sad

Thanks Paul for the pic, I did not notice the cap came off where the tool goes, my bad. And yes the winch is very stiff, I am trying some of the tips I read in hansebubeforum, will see.

and that MSG crane is pretty nice as well, if an LTM 1500 ever came out that would be the first livery i would love to see it in, something about that purple just really works well on cranes

The Gottwald looks fantastic Paul Teeth

Its not a model that really appeals to me personally, but just finished watching the 2 reviews on cranes etc and the detail on the model is brilliant Applause

The 500ton krupp they announced last year is one I'd like to get Pray

Nice additions with the 2 1060's Wink

Hoping to pick up the sarens one myself soon Teeth

Paul, that AMK is just stunning.....once again putting YCC on top (price being ignored) I think with WSI's stunning LTM1350 and a price tag equally as stunning YCC will have there work cut out for them. I for one love there current plans with the historical models, can't wait to see the rest follow.

The 112's both have had the YCC cylinders added. If I'm honest, the Big Hamish decals are slightly too small but I don't think they look too bad.

sorry paul im not bolt counting, but the front registration plate looks like yellow instead of white forgive me if im wrong, but what a great liveried model

Big Hamish does have a yellow license plate at the front. I hadn't noticed this to be honest but will be a quick fix if it needs to be changed. There are all kinds of pics of Fionn Mac but I cannot find hardly any of Big Hamish!

Big Hamish does have a yellow number plate on the front as its registered in Scotland. It is situated above the hitch like on the model. The one below the hitch on the model is not present on the real one though, however it is on the model as its part of the front cab casting. I have thought about taking a hacksaw and file to the one below the hitch on my model!

I did wonder why it had 2 plates, but as I've seen no good close ups of it I wasn't sure what the correct way was. Now I know! Might correct mine also but not until I take it down again.

Hi Guys,

Just found a couple of shots of Big Hamish when it was in Garstang erecting wind turbine at Dewlay cheese. You can see that it has a yellow front number plate, not the closest of shots, but it clearly shows the plate. Just like to add that the LK suffix is for the London area so must have been registered in London (sad I know Sad

)

I was holding out for this model but then recently saw a photo of a Kran Saller TGX with 2+4 Nootebom. It has this crane as a load Whistle

The LTR is one of my favourites in terms of smaller crawlers. This needs a little decal work doing but otherwise is a decent model.
