That Payhauler is so bad!!! I love the fact they painted that whole fleet baby blue!

I agree that is pretty cool. I read somewhere that it was tested that seagulls don't like that color and wouldn't defecate on the machines. I don't think that worked as well as they thought. (I believe Caterpillar did the testing although I'm not 100% sure)

neokonig, check out bing.com/maps they give you and "birds eye view" I don't believe Google or Bing are up to date though as this tow unit is pictured in the maps and I believe this unit was previously sold from the DSNY and was used to pull barges out of the water to be scrapped by another company and it is now being sold again.

Old topic, but yesterday a few friends and I had the opportunity to see these monsters. Didn't get to go up next to them but go pics from a small distance (insurance reasons). 3 of the 4 left at fresh kills have moved to a new location. 1 is left at fresh kills which will be incorporated into the fresh kills park.

Nothing runs like a deere with a cat on its back but the link belt ate both of them

Odd, but I was just thinking about this tread about a week ago. Nice to see it still in the archives and kicking around. Would have been a cool place to check out in it's time.

Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

This is a great thread and valuable information. I never knew the full history of fresh kills and it's really tragic that so much of 9-11 debris/remains had to be sorted there. Never forget!

Cat 966f,
Would you have, by any chance any pictures of the excavator of wich we see the end of the boom that is sitting beside the Payhauler 350 tow truck??
From hat i can see, it looks like a big Koehring.....
Thanks in advance.
Max.

Cat 245.....Now and Forever

I am looking for industrial auction brochures from Ritchie Bros, Miller & Miller, Forke Bros, First Team Auction, Max Rouse, etc from the 70's, 80's and 90's.I am a collector and heavy equipment enthusiast and these pamphlets are loaded with nice pictures of cleaned and freshly painted equipment.Thet don't have much value once the sale is over but they are a great help to me in preserving the memory of machines that are no longer being built. Please, help my hobby by looking in your old storage boxes and file folders for these old auction sale brochures.Your help is much appreciated.
