Absolutely excellent shots of a great looking crane Jack  Thanks for taking the time to go take them and post em' here!! You'd want to make sure the ground underneath the front cab was fairly level when setting her up that it doesn't come down on top of something if it drops that much from ballasting up.

Gaz, if thats true about the front wheels being off the ground before putting ballast on then does that mean that after the ballast is on the crane is out of level and needs to be re leveled again?

Pretty sure it's only deflection in the chassis/deck because of where all that ballast is sitting so as soon as you slew round and pick up the ballast the deflection should go out of it again.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the nice comments and I'm glad you enjoyed them. well worth the 160 mile round trip  With that chassis deflection imagine rigging on a slope with the front end in the air! Would definitely want some packing under it!

Not at all mate, its all due to the crane being so back heavy, one we had slewed the crane 90degree the wheels came back off the ground, as with most mobiles the crane has a certain amount of movement in the chassis and outriggers, you level it with no ballast on board. Nothing major but a nice Little 50 ton IHI CCH 500-3. This is the sort of crane I will be working with in less than 2 months. So its quite cool to see one up close again.   Jack
