Where was the crane working? I saw it on the M25 heading anti-clockwise towards the M1 on Thursday afternoon about 4:30 near the A1 junction. It looked impressive coming towards me.

Super photos Jack, perhaps some of your best yet  The green surroundings makes a great backdrop and seeing the crew standing on green grass rather than a dusty construction site is very strange!.

Cheers lads  Thanks Paul , it was a glorious day for it and as you say, it was weird it not being rigged up on a city street or muddy track. A nice change. She had been working at the Aquatics centre tandem Lifting with the LTM 1800. She's now at Mill Lane, Telford.

I so wish this was made as a 1:50 scale model. Even the 1:87 looks good but with it only having one mast section extending and made of plastic it is just a big let down.
But do love the look of this crane in these colours.

Got a quick look around my local Ainscough depot in Birmingham this evening. Got to see one of the new Sprinter escort vans which is very smart inside and out. LTM 1250-6.1     Depot's largest crane; LTM 1150-6.1  Jack

Jack, isn't the ltm 1250-6.1 bigger than the ltm 1150-6.1? According to your post the 1150 is bigger than the 1250.

Nice shots from the yard and of the 1750 Jack, what was up with the 1100?  That new livery on the trucks is really starting to grow on me now.

Thanks lads! I have been very lucky indeed The livery is growing on my too Sam! It does look smart. And it was inside the boom, the system that telescopes the jib, a electrical wire on a coil gone? I think? I know the parts that were brought up of Biggleswade were a couple of grand!

Some guys have all the luck! Last time I was having a look at the depot in Manchester (from outside the gates), which is near my parents house, I got a less than favourable response from one of the guys working there. Was a few years ago though. Now I have nothing of interest near my current house. Jon PS great pics

So what do they do with all the cable that's reeved throughout the crane? Do they just spool it back on the drums or are there line trucks that they spool it onto for transport?
