I think that Liebherr might be a bit concerned about 9800 sales when this beast hits the dirt!!! Std bucket is a bit bigger at 45m3@1,8t/m3 so I reckon prospective buyers of ultra-class backhoe's will be glad there is now a choice of 3 brands!!We will probably see a PC 8000 hoe in the flesh soon too{in Oz} A few shots here:- http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hitachi-kenki-construction-machinery-coltdJAPAN/233025120085408

First EX8000-6 BE is being assembled in QLD,Australia. The specs and new brochure here. Backhoe has marginally higher digging and breakout forces compared to the R9800,including a higher operating weight of 837 metric tonnes! Oz machine will be equipped with 45m3 bucket.Cat are now at the "back of the line" on the ultra-class backhoe machines.....but I'm sure they are working on a competitor to the other 3 in that class range already.I reckon they still need to make the 6090 available in backhoe configuration-the issue of it being 'too heavy' is not really a valid statement in my opinion.Ground contact area and pressure are relevant factors to be considered, I would say.

Are the 2 QLD Australia machines the former Mt Keith West Australia machines?
Cat won,t be pouring $$ into the big girls for a while, they know they need an 800 ton class machine but i suspect we will see a B series 125 ton machine next
