I have been customizing the Conrad Freightliner using the Sword Freightliner Century and some FG Mack Granite pieces. Here is the build and the final product. Though I need to finish painting the chassis and final cab details. I did a 1/4" frame stretch which equals about a foot, Tonkin headboard, Sword wheels, tires and axles, sword 5th wheel, air lines, 1/4 fenders, interior, drive shaft, exhaust stacks, frame deck/mesh, FG battery box and air tanks, FG warning beacons, custom built steering. Before Custom built steering for the sword wheels which accidentally gained working suspension, you can also see the addition of a nice drive shaft vs a plain rod. I swapped in some of the Century's interior though the bed needed to be cut in half lengthwise to fit You can even see the Freightliner logo in the back This is the truck of inspiration

That is one good looking freightshaker. You should get a set of outside frame 3d printed flats and cut the rear axle off. Get a good ol west coast hay truck .

I was thinking of doing something like that. That's what the white Freightliner in the picture is. If I can find another one of these Freightliners I'd like to do a bigger frame stretch and put a flat bed in it with pup trailer and make that a hay truck too! There are a lot of hay dealers on the north east and NY state that run that setup.

Very nice group you have going there. That Shaker looks fantastic, amazing what just a little work can do to improve anything. Keep it up.

Thank you Dan. I have been wanting a nice American cab over model for a while now. When I got this model from Craig I knew it was my chance to build one. I am going to give it the final touches this weekend.

Tonkin made a 1/53 Peterbilt 362 years ago. Try finding one of those! They always go for a hefty price on Ebay. But to me they are too small. CAW

Really, I'd love to see one of those! I do hate that Tonkin makes their models 1/53 and not 1/50. If you ask me there are way too many odd ball scales out there.

Just out of curiosity, where did you find the staker parsons truck? They're based in Utah but have a division here in Idaho. I'd be interested in picking that truck up. http://photobucket.com/cat627g equipment pics. theres nothing like the smell of asphalt in the morning!

I got it from another member (Quinella) who bought it online. It's actually rather funny because I work for Redimix and we are owned by the same parent company. Our future CEO of coming to us from S/P in Utah. There were 2 on eBay not a month ago selling for about $200 ea which is way too much.

There were a ton of them on there a long while ago for $80-100. Someone scooped them all up and now they are reappearing in the $150-$200 range

Thank you, that is the plan. I need fenders for a few projects and Modelmechanic offers fenders in groups of various styles so I will be able to get 4 sets of fenders for one price and modify them as needed. I'm also getting tire chain hangers and a tool box from him as well as parts for another log truck custom that Lee is building for me.
