whats up with that ridiculous exhaust attached to the CWs, dirtying up those CWs like that looks horrible, i realize low emissions but its NY, not CA.... are the emissions laws just as bad in NY?

Most likely the exhaust was routed to the highest point they could get, in a hole like that, if you worked near or on the crane the fumes could be bad. Fantastic pics!!.... You know what gets me though?.... Jobs these days are endless, it takes so much time to do anything. I just got an Email that reminded me that the Empire State buildings steel erection took all of 9 months. From foundation to topping out. 9 months!! in 1931. 57,000 tons of steel erected. Amazing. Still a record that stands today I beleve. Those guys could realy put up some iron.

yeah Tim i was thinking the same thing, the progression on this jobsite is a joke, what are we... 10 years into it and they dont have that much to show for all their time, given the fact that they work 24/7. now i realize quite a few years went into clean up so for arguments sake we will split hairs here and say 5 years went into construction alone..... the Trump Tower in Chicago went up in less time then that, i believe 3 or 4 years and that was almost a 100 story building.... sure way more is being built at the WTC but it seems like this job is moving at worse than a turtles pace

Also architects spent years designing the buildings. So the building itself was not really started until a year or so ago. I live only about an hour from the city and read the NY City papers almost every day, so I have been following very closely what has gone on there. I don't think it's fair to blame any people or companies working on the site. I have never worked in NYC, but I've visited the city often so I know any project there must be a logistical nightmare!
Dump on the edges, the middle will take care of itself. Never look down on ANYONE! Unless it is to lift them up.

JesseP wrote:Well let me add my two cents, as we are currently starting TWO High profile jobs at this site. First off Dewoc, Yes the emissions laws are as Bad as Cali's.. We have been bringing in cranes to retrofit 9/11 artifacts for the museum. Every rig we rent from Bay, we also pay a Second company to install a DPF on whatever crane we rent... As far as the pace I agree with the others on here. However, their is Alot going on at the site..If you saw the Stacks of paper we have been filing to do simple tasks you would puke!!! It will get done, but it's gonna take awile!! Check out the info on the 9/11 museum..That's one of my babies right now....Also check out Hangar 17 at JFK...I gotta go back to work..Great shots Vinny... By the way, take a guess what the rental is on that 18000 for 8 hours.. We might use her for a few picks... i have no idea, but im very curious to here the #
