Thanks! yeah that 385 has been beat to hell and thats the end of that machine for this job. The stick cracked while digging/loading the ADT bed about 2 weeks ago, they scraped the stick, bucket and q/c.

Wow must say such a sad end to a machine couldnt they just order a new stick for the machine? Suppose its too late now if they scrapped the bucket and q/c. Seems a little dumb...

DC Craneman: I was under the impression that Favco stopped producing the telescopic crawlers a while back, unless they've restarted due to thier recent popularity.

Per their web site, the Faval Favcos are still built. You never know exactly where they are sourcing their machines though. The base of these appears to be a Cat excavator though and not a purpose built crane machinery deck as in the others. I believe that someone else tried this too.
Another major crane manufacturer building telescopic crawlers that I failed to mention earlier is Liebherr. Their telescopic crawlers are availabe in 60, 100 and 1200 ton sizes.
Whether Grove is interested in getting back into this, we shall have to wait and see. They did just introduce a new 150 US ton rought terrain.

Look out tues or wed for D36/D45 truss piece due in 59 tons 14.5 ft wide 58 ft long 13.5 ft high Supor to bring it in !! Built by URAASA in Spain fixed by Harris/ MRP in South Plainfield stress relieved by Team Industrial . Im sure Supor will make a project out of it . John

Just because it was placed in a drop box, does not mean it was scrapped, We haul lots of stuff from the jobsites to our yard in drop boxes; sticks, attachments, bobcats, salvage timber...
