im one of those "max the crane out" type of guys... and the 8800 with a ton of boom and luffer looks good, but i have to say i think it looks better with just main boom and heavy hook block with a nice load on it, this is one crane i would never get the luffer for

yeah im like you with maxing the crane out, it does look good like that but i like having everything you can get for it. it should have come with the jib for 1200 bucks, 300 is alot for a small length of jib i think

Until...........I found a pair on ebay! Won the auction for 2 pieces for 28.50 dlls.Hope I get them this Loooooong week. That's the reason I haven't finish reeving mine. So at the end it's gonna be boom+2 sections and the normal mast.As Brandon,300 dlls seems a lot for money for some pieces of metal. Also,I don't have roof space to display it. I personally like the 8800 with just the heal section of luff on. I REALLY like the orange and black paint job. One day I will get my hands on one.

Great photos Brandon, especially of the Peterbilt 357 East dumper, sharp, great angles, focus, light etc. Congrats on the CC8800 too, that's a solid piece of diecast! Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Great shots and a great addition to your collection. The CC8800 was the first model I bought and to this day I still look at it and think "wow"!. I also have the luffing kit and it does look amazing but I agree with Zach that there's just something that makes it "looks better" with the basic boom set up and if they weren't so expensive now I would buy another one and set it up like that. In my very humble opinion I still feel that the CC8800 is the "daddy" of crawler crane models but just what will the Manitowoc 31000 look like.....

Fantastic buy Brandon are you going to give it the same treatment as your LR 1750?? I wouldn't have minded the luffer kit for mine but I don't think Conrad released any in the RAL 1007 yellow

Some nice looking addition you have Brandon, I think your brothers gift is cool. I had at one time a couple of wooden models similar to that but they have been lost. Flickr Photostream
