I got the chance to see them upclose http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErQ4c81pj3wThey have changed that 385 so much since it has got there, it used to have a normal stick and boom, then they put a long boom then long stick nick17nz- At its deepest point, I say 100+ feet

If one does enough deep excavation, sooner or later you are going to have to do this. The hardness of the rock also dictates what you need in terms of hammers and excavator breakout force.
When I was more heavily involved in excavation, we pulled a series of 235s out of a hole. Fairly comparable to the 345 lifts.
My friend has a soft rock wrapping up shortly and will be doing a 330D, 315C and a 953C this week. Then later in the tracked skid steer and the minis will come out. The pick was delayed so I shall be at work hence sorry no pictures.
