So I guess then this will be my first TRUCK crane you could say? That sure is an impressive replica... especially in Red and Black with that Elephant on it! ... Prt
PS... OK, OK, I know it's not an Elephant... just trying to get under BobM's skin! Off to tear open a bag of Mint Oreo's now Bob! All right Mr. Prtstrdj-yanking the Mammoths chain is not wise-they weigh upwards of 12-15,000 pounds and could easily stop a skinny transplanted New Yorker into the Ohio dirt! LOL! I make you a public offer prt-you get that 11200 in Mammoet, I will jump in the car, drive to Ohio, buy you a steak dinner and then help you rig your 11200 and your 555! I will even bring a selection fo cookies for us to enjoy, Oreo's, Double Stuff Oreo's and some good ol fashioned chocolate chip cookies-homemade of course. So the gauntlet has been thrown down-you gonna pick it up????????

Anybody notice that on the crane model there are not outriggers as the one in transport mode???? Hope this changes when the model comes out. It would be a shame to have to buy two booms to get all the details... Next we can only hope there will be a jib on the market someday from somebody for this crane take care, Fritz Looks like a wonderful model...

Hi Fritz, I assume you refer to the outriggers on the boom? Just as on the real crane these can be detached from the boom. So no need to change anything on the model. I guess you can leave the outriggers on the boom on the model if you want, if not you will indeed need to buy two cranes... Regards, Martijn

Stunning model. If the Mammoet version costs 450 euros, surely the standard liebherr version will cost less?

Looks plastic? Weighs less then a 1160? Guess you haven't seen the model in real life? The boom alone weighs over 2.5 kg and is made of metal!

Bruce,
It wasn't Mr. Smits who said it looks plastic, but Alberto Quijano. As Mr. Smits said (and we heard it from someone from WSI) the boom weighs 2.5 kgs and it's die-cast.
The model is awsome!!!

Hi alberto, I can understand where you are coming from and in the past we may have paid less for our models, but over the last few years there has been quite a dramatic turn in world events ie the banking system, also quite a rise in the cost of raw materials etc and this is bound to have some sort of effect on the final cost of any model, having seen this model in the flesh at the Mammoet day all I can say it is one fantastic model, very well detailed and almost all made from die-cast, you also have to take in to consideration that this is not the finished model and only sample model, at the end of the day I feel this model will sell out very quickly, if you don't like it fair enough, but if you want one I would not hang about, I feel very confident about this model I will be getting 2, or even 3 Steve.
