I'm the same myself,I haven't splashed out on a 1/18 car in I don't know how long,I can't actually remember my last purchase, the prices of the like of Minichamps has seemed to have doubled in the past few years, and paying the same for a resin car what I paid for an Autoart or Minichamps a few years back seems rediculous,

Did you get to pick up the 9800?

Victor we are tirelessly working on that here Wink

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

No, I can't really afford to be spending hundreds on shovels, though I wish I could. The 9800 looks wonderful, and I'd love one but it will have to wait.

Hopefully you've got your camera charged up now and can provide some high quality shots? Please make some comparison shots of the front ends and give us your opinion? From your phone photos, I can now see that the backhoe boom, stick and bucket are distinctly different. Post here or on the other thread; just post?

Loco's haven't been ran in a while, must fire them up at the weekend and atleast finish the little bit of ballasting then weather the new ballast and track

I eventually found my camera, then hours later my battery and charger, which I had to then jump the battery off a AA battery so the charger would recognize it,and then had to do remember where the USB lead was,so a day or so later here are some better quality pics,

On a side note,I'm amazed the poor quality of pics from my iphone 5,my cheap as chips casio digital camera is 7 yrs old!!

Ariel snap of the R9350,cast in hose detail on the boom

Ariel comparison of the R9400,this model has much more jazz going on

Photo etched walk ways R9400

Bucket cast detailing,R9400 in fore ground, metalic silver caps cover all pin bosses,a nice detailing touch

More rear hyd comparison

Now some father/son pics

Some photos of the backhoe buckets back to back from the side and above would be nice to see (I think you don't have an R994B or R9350 shovel?). Also a shot from above of the crawlers back to back would be great. The R9400 crawler shoes should be just a little over 3mm wider than the R994B/R9350.

I have the R994 shovel and R9350 back hoe,but both Mc Arthur R994's. Does anyone know if an R9350 FS was made?

The crawler pads are indeed wider 17mm v 20mm and the under carriage is wider 117mm v 132mm,buckets again 71mm v 79mm at its widest across the cutting edge

The carbodies look identical, bar the 9400 being newer and having more detailing but physical size look very very similar, there is a catwalk that hangs out leading to the access stairs which gives it a wider look,9350 missing the red rear "lights" on the counter weight

Come on; I don't make stuff up like some others here do!

The R994B and R9350 shovels had the same boom, stick and bucket. What are the differences in size of your R994B shovel bucket compared to the R9400 shovel bucket?

Across the widest part of the FS bucket, the 994 is 80mm v 86mm on the 9400 FS,

So there are two more to hunt down, the 994 excavator and the 9350FS,

I thought the 994 and 9350 were cracking models when they first came out,for the money, but these 9400's are more impressive, imposing and riddled with detailing,I can't wait to see what NZG do with their up and coming Komatsu offerings

Absolutely stunning. The R9400 backhoe really does it for me - that bucket is just beautiful!

Thanks for the dimensions. It would seem these are reasonably accurate.

You don't have to search for an R994B backhoe. Although I have no doubt that there may be a rabid Liebherr collector out there who has re-decaled a backhoe attachment swapped on the R994B main machine; NZG never produced one.

Good luck finding an R9350 front shovel!

I guess when I bought the 994b FS I never planned on buying more, then I was sent the 9350 excavator as a gift from an old friend,I think this is why I wanted both 9400's as the 994d's and 9350's dried up long ago

I think the Mt Arthur was the only 994b back hoe?,I cant confirm this as mine are tucked away in their boxes safe from that pesky house dust

Now that you mention it, I do remember the Mt. Arthur pieces. As I only collect original factory colors, I have never paid much attention to them. I do know that the Mt. Arthur backhoe came in an R9350 box, so I assumed it had the newer body. If and when you ever dig them out, have a look? If the Mt. Arthur backhoe has the R994B body, that would be really interesting.

For anyone in the UK interested, there's a 9350 front shovel on Ebay at the mo. Asking price £200.

9800 is nearly twice the size of 9400. It' said that backhoe 9800 will exist at the end of this year, and I am looking forward to it. The backhoe should be a monster packaged in a big box which is much longer than the front shovel.

The white 9350 has both BH and FS versions, don't it?
