Out and about with the LG1550 at the moment (dam do I want YCC to do there model in our livery). Done a few jobs with it now. Will be with it for a few weeks up in Peterhead docks. Falkirk depot for fuel.  In the yard for driver training.  Luffer on in the yard.  Wallsend last month, 110t whatever it is!   And a 70t winch.  Lifting cable reals at Peterhead this morning.     . Reals done, one was 170t the other 130t. Just chilling out now ready for the nod to start de-rigging and head over to the other side the dock to do more reals. Enjoy Gaz

The brown things in wallsend are an A frame and winch for a subsea cutter spread, News article clicky!i know this cos moving this round to the ship has been the bane of my life for the last 2 months!

The Falkirk depot is only 5 mins from the falkirk wheel,wm whytes depot is only 10 min away

Working along side James Jacks 5 today, it rigged us yesterday (was nice to have a rigging crane we did not have to move 10 times!). Was busy busy driving the LG but had 2 secs to take this.  5's a big lump but the LG puts it in place Enjoy Gaz

Few new boom sections, few dents knocked out and a coat of paint and hey presto. I've been on it for a few weeks now you would never have guessed it was in such a bad accident, the crane is a dream to operate, splits down and goes together perfectly, not so much as a tight pin. Shame what happened really, was a mistake but fortunately no injurys just a bit of dented pride. One thing is it gives you masses of respect for the machine, its not a easy thing to put together, I'll be learning this one for years! Gaz

Great pics! Thanks for posting.
I have a question about the pics loading the cable reels. After you set the reel on the ship and there is no load on the hook, can the crane swing around with the ballast tray on the crane? I notice in the pic its not attached to the crane anymore. Does it need to be moved to lift the next reel? Hope what I'm asking makes sense.
