Paul A wrote:I thought u might noel lol. i think shes gonna have to have ycc brass cylinders for sure oohhhh more expense lol. paul. Definitely! In fact that is what I have been doing today is painting YCC cylinders in preparation for the McNallys Have a set for the FB as well but haven't installed them yet. Despite the RAL codes it is quite hard to get them to match! But they look a lot better than the plastic ones. Paul R

I have a couple-o-sets on the way too,if the mechanism behind them is what I think it is then YCC will be onto a winner, who knows we might see them making models in the future too

My only concern is chipping the paint when you tighten them up but I am hoping that something wrapped around a small adjustable spanner might prevent that.

That is quite a trio Graham! I just might have to pick one up very nice, you really do need the factory version, just to round it out. Plus it's nice to have to modify first before you put the McNally's under the knife! Mine has received 50% stops and gray treatment on the boom, as well it will receive the "YCC cylinder manufacturing compant of Asia's" cylinder kits first. Mark

well YCC delivery arrived a day or so ago, mammoet and Franz Bracht,I fitted the Bracht ones first,a handy tip that was previously posted is to polish the rods first,as they just have the plain allu extruded or rolled surface,I have to say they add greatly to the model, and as was mentioned the spanner supplied doesn't look like it will last long, buy and cut down a standard 11mm spanner,
my only gripe is the parts (I bought the ready assembled painted ones) seem to be very delicate,I had to re-glue some of the add-ons back on,so care is needed when handling and fitting
I won't be getting any for the McNallys, decals just ain't the same as the painted on sign writing IMO

ok,now for those who thought I was a lift guy, long before the big rush for cranes there was a healthy dirt side,i'd say more blasted rock then dirt though,I had some fun taking these pics, taking them down and dusting them off, just brought back memories of how damn heavy that 495 HR is!!! mega!! if anyone is thinking of buying one, stop thinking and start buying, its by far the most impressive dirt/mining model, bar the eight hundred billion euro 8750, I tried to take these from a ground view, like you would see them from the pit floor, although pit floors aren't timber and they don't have a huge window in the background so I bring you my heavy miners... first up Cat 797F, Liebherr T282B Cat 793D waffle body Cat 785D,I really do like this little Cat O&K RH340E FS amazing model! O&K RH340E back hoe Demag H 485 S Komatsu PC3000 FS Komatsu PC3000 back hoe Terex O&K RH120E O&K RH120C UK Coal Liebherr R994 FS Liebherr R996 FS Thats the big hydro shovels done, now the loading shovels Cat 994F LeTourneau L1850,another one of my favourites Finally the Bucyrus 495HR Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed
