That thing is going to be unreal, to save time why don't you just use a bucket from a mini digger. Teeth Can't wait to see her started.

Sometimes it looks small when I look at the drawing side view, other times it looks pretty good sized.
One thing is for sure it will weigh well over 100 lbs. All the functions of the boom, stick , bucket will move manually.

Monday morning I will begin cutting out the first parts , very excited to get started. But there has been a change , instead of Kevin Anderson getting it in Denver, now Leon from Va. is now getting it.
Leon ordered it first last fall and Kevin was second on the list. Now I talked to Kevin and Leon and it is now going to Leon after all . Also Leon will be getting the O&K RH-400 front shovel that will be built after the Liebherr R9800 Excavator is completed. So Leon will have al four of my large mining shovel models in his unique collection, very cool !

Nice Don!

A Q: How do you choose where to begin the building of one of your creations, like in this case - the bucket. Why start with the bucket? Why not start with the tracks for example?

This model should be completed in six weeks if I work five or six days a week , 10 hour days.
Normally I do start the building with the tracks , but this time I wanted to do it a little different .
The bucket is my favorite part .
I am building the first boom lift cylinder now , WOW ! it's HUGE !! I'll post a picture of it tomorrow with the first side of the boom and stick parts now cut out. I am even amazed at the size of it now I am building it, ha,ha.

I just posted todays progress as I finished building the first two hydraulic cylinders that will dump the bucket. You can also see the first stick part cut out and bucket linkages . Next I am building the two top cylinders and cutting out the first boom side. Anyone following the building progress can see the cylinders at www.doncampbellmodels.com
