I'm even excited to see it start to take shape. One more full week of cutting out parts, then I can begin tack welding some of them together. Three weeks it should get some shape to it. I hand cut all the parts either with the plasma cutter or my small hand shear and a small hand operated knotcher. I also use a hand held band saw for cutting thicker metal .

Todays picture shows both booms, sticks and cylinders roughed in. There is plenty more to do on them later, but this first part of the building process is done. Anyone following the picture progress can view the next picture at www.doncampbellmodels.com

My god, the first time I saw it I thought it was a roof rack for a car. That is going to be massive, thanks for the update.

Yes, just imagine it will be sitting over 12 inches from the ground on the track frame too. Trust me , it won't look like a luggage rack in a few weeks, ha,ha.

I have never showed daily progress building any of my models. It is usually very boring and most people aren't very interested until the end when it starts taking the final shape. But this time I thought I would post a picture each day showing the daily progress . Todays picture shows the right side panel being cut with the plasma cutter and filed and screen welded in place. Anyone wanting to follow the daily progress can see todays picture at www.doncampbellmodels.com

Thanks, I guarantee in two more weeks it will start taking shape, next week you will start to see some of the familier looks. I will get the front sections boxed in tonight and get going on the front stairs in the morning.
