Awesome model! I have the black on black. I don't really care for the white on ivory - I wish it were white on white. Daily Diesel Dose.com| All Ready Mix.com | Plowsite DOT Thread | If your only contribution is complaining, please don't contribute!

hey guys, got a little bored today and decided to change up the display of a couple cranes. first up, manitowoc 4100 tower crane, i did this a few days ago, i was looking at one of the pics i bought from manitowoc, and noticed a short 4100 tower painted in all grey, and thought it looked pretty cool, so i gave it a try. not really a tower crane now but still looks cool. next up, i took down the luffing jib on the 11200 and put it up in heavy lift configuration but attached the "rooster/runner" tip, had to customize the heavy lift tip a little bit as it didnt have holes for the runner tip to attach to, to my surprise, the parts i had to grind down, were plastic. so i grinded it down a tiny bit and drilled holes in it so the tip can attach to, then added a pin for the bottom of the tip to rest on. here you go

thanks luis! forgot to post this too, i did this a couple weeks ago, mike was talking about adding the lr1300 luffing jib to the 16000, as the 18000 jib is too big, and not realistic. so i took my 1300 jib off and attached it to see if it would work and it does work, pretty well too! it looks more to scale than the 18000 jib, only difference really is the masts. other than that, it looks pretty good. i did have to drill new holes where the jib heel attaches though, or it would not luff up too far. well here are some pics used extra 18000 pendant linkages heres where i had to drill a new hole also painted up the walkway/ladder on the cab, looks alot better now, more realstic

All looks great! The LR1300 jib fits pretty well on the 16000, it just popped into my head that it would be a close fit! Love the 11200 custom heavy lift tip to!

Nice job guys!! I love the luffer on the 16000!
Brandon, I did the same thing with my 4100 Tower shortly after getting it. My goal was to build a 4100 container crane, which you basically did except for the extra 10' of main boom and elevated cab. I always liked the 4100 container cranes, I think they have a few in Nassau in the Bahamas. Now to figure out an extended cab....

That looks great I wish they would actually make a Luffer for this model.

Looks like you've done a bit of modifying to the zaxis 1000k any chance of you posting more pictures of what and how you did?
If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you should do it the way i told you to in the beginning. Operator at Encore Excavating, My PhotoBucket account http://s1170.photobucket.com/albums/r521/MitchellP22/

Thanks to post your models!!!
Just only question: why don't put the "small models" (i see them in back ground in some photos)in a showcase to protect them from the dusty?
