Awesome model! I have the black on black. I don't really care for the white on ivory - I wish it were white on white.

hey guys, got a little bored today and decided to change up the display of a couple cranes. first up, manitowoc 4100 tower crane, i did this a few days ago, i was looking at one of the pics i bought from manitowoc, and noticed a short 4100 tower painted in all grey, and thought it looked pretty cool, so i gave it a try. not really a tower crane now but still looks cool.

next up, i took down the luffing jib on the 11200 and put it up in heavy lift configuration but attached the "rooster/runner" tip, had to customize the heavy lift tip a little bit as it didnt have holes for the runner tip to attach to, to my surprise, the parts i had to grind down, were plastic. so i grinded it down a tiny bit and drilled holes in it so the tip can attach to, then added a pin for the bottom of the tip to rest on. here you go

thanks luis!

forgot to post this too, i did this a couple weeks ago, mike was talking about adding the lr1300 luffing jib to the 16000, as the 18000 jib is too big, and not realistic. so i took my 1300 jib off and attached it to see if it would work and it does work, pretty well too! it looks more to scale than the 18000 jib, only difference really is the masts. other than that, it looks pretty good. i did have to drill new holes where the jib heel attaches though, or it would not luff up too far. well here are some pics

used extra 18000 pendant linkages

heres where i had to drill a new hole

also painted up the walkway/ladder on the cab, looks alot better now, more realstic

All looks great! The LR1300 jib fits pretty well on the 16000, it just popped into my head that it would be a close fit! Love the 11200 custom heavy lift tip to!

Nice job guys!! I love the luffer on the 16000!

Brandon, I did the same thing with my 4100 Tower shortly after getting it. My goal was to build a 4100 container crane, which you basically did except for the extra 10' of main boom and elevated cab. I always liked the 4100 container cranes, I think they have a few in Nassau in the Bahamas. Now to figure out an extended cab....

That looks great I wish they would actually make a Luffer for this model.

FINALLY picked up a ltm1200!!! guy on the dhs classifieds was selling it so i snagged it up quick for 205 after the shipping and insurenceTeeth unfortunately, its in Franz Bracht, but still looks nice. think i might take the decals off someday and replace with maxim of course. i love how it comes with the metal sheaves already, and the guy also had an extra jib section for it! not knowing the block would have metal sheaves i ordered a ycc 5 block for it along with the cylinder earlier today as well, before it came. only thing wrong was he threw the jib brackets away as he never stowed the jib on the crane, but he supplied 2 from the link belt atc3200 with it, they are not perfect but are better than nothing, still holds it on there. well here are some pics.

its a really tall model, around 6 and a half to 7ft

Looks like you've done a bit of modifying to the zaxis 1000k any chance of you posting more pictures of what and how you did?

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you should do it the way i told you to in the beginning.

Thanks to post your models!!!

Just only question: why don't put the "small models" (i see them in back ground in some photos)in a showcase to protect them from the dusty?

just got these parts in today from luis, AWESOME job!!! Applause looks great and love the spreader bar and rigging, will have to get some more different sizes soonThink
the 16000 looks so much better now, just like the real one!

first, i got the pendant spreader bar for the 4100

he threw in this great spreader bar with rigging, is very nice!

then was the heavy lift/rooster tip for the 16000
without sheaves

i made a slight modification though, i added a longer tie off point, used an extra 18000 pendant dog bone link, as the one luis supplied is too short and hard to use with the sheaves added
